Background

My athletic interests and career in basketball started on the outdoor courts of my hometown,  Nassau, Bahamas. Shortly after moving to Canada, I had the opportunity to play point guard for a college team in Vancouver, the Langara Falcons. Throughout my time on the team, I had the chance to fully demonstrate my passion for the game I love. I have always strived to be a great leader on and off the court. I’m a strong believer in putting in hard work through practice regardless of what your goals may be.

Experience

For the past 8 years, I have trained and worked with kids of various ages and  backgrounds on both the West and East coasts of Canada.  Regardless of where I’m training, I’ve always encouraged youth to work their hardest and push through any physical or mental barriers they may be facing. I’ve had the privilege of working with a variety of non-profit organizations such as Layup Basketball. Through this organization, I had the opportunity to coach disadvantaged youth facing a variety of hardships. This experience helped me diversify my coaching and communication skills, allowing me to cultivate an impactful training style. In addition, I’ve worked with the non-profit Richmond Youth Basketball League, where I’ve created meaningful relationships with my students throughout their training journey these past 8 years. I strive to motivate my students and it’s always rewarding to see how much the young athletes I work with can grow when they put in the work.

Playing Experience

My time on the Langara Falcons Basketball team gave me the chance to solidify my training style which focuses on motivation, discipline and consistency. Under Coach Paul Eberhardt, I came to fully understand what it means to put in hard work. From running sets every day in practice, to the many fundamental drill sessions we shared, I was pushed both physically and mentally which strongly boosted my own skills and development.

Schooling

I received a Diploma in Kinesiology from Langara College. It was through my education where I developed my passion for teaching and health. I acquired a deep interest in optimal performance and recuperation through my studies, and I now apply this training every day in my personal lifestyle. Since then, I’ve noticed that not only did my performance as an athlete improve, but my overall energy and life balance had enhanced as well. As a result, I truly realized the value behind what I have learned, and what I stand to offer others. My goal is to help youth develop the appropriate skills that will enhance their athletic careers.
